Smart, Actionable Alerts for Better Engineering Outcomes

ree

At Kindor, we know that driving performance isn’t just about measuring, it’s about helping teams take the right actions at the right time.

That’s why we’ve rebuilt our previous Kindor Advisor into a completely new Notification Center. A smarter, more personalized engine that gives engineering and business leaders real-time insights tailored to their workflows.

The new Kindor Advisor now organizes notifications into 6 strategic categories, making it easier to focus on the signals that truly move the needle.

1. Data Quality & Process Adherence 🤝

Are your teams actually following your defined processes?

This category focuses on helping teams ensure that their work items follow your organization’s standards and industry best practices, by surfacing issues like:

  • Epics, Tasks or User Stories missing key information (e.g., estimation, priority, owner, due date).

  • Pull requests not linked to any task or issue.

  • Items not following naming conventions or tagging policies.

Whether your teams follow Scrum, Kanban, or something custom, Kindor helps enforce consistent, compliant and high-quality execution without requiring extra manual oversight.

2. Delivery Efficiency 🚀

Work should flow continuously, without getting stuck or accumulating hidden waste.

The Delivery Efficiency category focuses on identifying slowdowns in your development process and helping teams stay in a productive rhythm. Kindor Advisor detects signals such as:

  • Work items lingering in progress longer than expected.

  • Tasks being carried across multiple sprints.

  • Pull Requests that are too large, stale, or bypass the review process.

  • Excessive levels of unplanned work creeping into completed sprints.

  • Teams showing a decline in throughput metrics like completion rate, deployment frequency, or change lead time.

By surfacing these patterns early, Kindor helps teams avoid bottlenecks, reduce WIP overload, and deliver software more predictably.

Whether you’re leading a fast-moving product team or managing multiple squads at scale, this category ensures you’re always one step ahead of delivery risks.

3. On-Time Delivery ⏰

Deadlines matter, especially when predictability builds trust with stakeholders.

The On-Time Delivery category helps teams stay aligned with planned timelines by monitoring due dates across tasks, epics, and releases. Kindor Advisor surfaces alerts like:

  • Items at risk of missing their deadlines

  • Overdue projects and releases

These notifications are designed to keep delivery commitments visible so teams can proactively adjust priorities, escalate risks, or reset expectations before delays impact larger plans.

Whether you’re tracking internal OKRs or coordinating cross-team milestones, this category supports more predictable delivery and stronger stakeholder confidence.

4. Time Management 🧘

More work ≠ better work.

The Time Management category helps teams identify unhealthy or inefficient time patterns that can lead to burnout, lack of focus, or reduced output. Kindor Advisor tracks signals such as:

  • Contributors working frequently during weekends

  • Excessive time spent in meetings

  • Low levels of focus time or very fragmented work blocks

  • Recurring short meetings that break up the day

  • Events that consistently run over time

These insights enable leaders to protect deep work, promote healthier habits, and rebalance calendars across the team, especially important in hybrid and remote settings where boundaries can blur.

 5. Contributor Activity Anomalies 🔍

Not everyone moves at the same pace, but when someone slows down drastically, it’s worth investigating.

The Contributor Activity Anomalies category is designed to detect unusual activity patterns or potential disengagement early, so managers can provide timely support or course correction. Kindor Advisor monitors signals such as:

  • Long inactivity periods (no commits, no tasks completed)

  • Sprint participants who finish early and are left without further tasks

  • Managers or engineers who haven’t attended or organized any meetings recently

These alerts help identify blockers, burnout, misalignment, or underutilization—without needing manual oversight.

With early visibility into anomalies, leaders can act quickly to reassign work, re-engage contributors, or uncover hidden problems before they affect team momentum.

6. Contributor Highlights & Recognitions 🏆

High-performing teams thrive on appreciation, not just accountability.

The Recognition & Highlights category helps you celebrate the people driving progress across your engineering organization. Kindor Advisor identifies top contributors in key areas such as:

  • Overall activity across code, reviews, and tasks

  • Monthly leaders in coding, task completion, or code review

  • Contributors with the highest improvement or consistently strong performance score

  • Team members excelling in sprint completion and on-time delivery

These automatic recognitions foster a culture of positive reinforcement, boosting motivation and encouraging repeatable behaviors that align with team and business goals.

Whether you share them in a team channel or company-wide update, these highlights make it easier to reward impact transparently.

🔧 How to Enable and Use Kindor Advisor Notifications

Getting started with Kindor Advisor is easy and fully customizable to your organization’s needs.

  1. Go to the Admin Module: Visit https://my.kindor.co/ and log in with your admin account.

  2. Open the Notification Center: From there, navigate to the Notification Center to view all available rules categorized by focus area.

  3. Activate the Rules That Matter Most: Enable notifications at either the organization level or for specific teams, depending on your structure. You can also adjust thresholds (e.g., days without commits, size of PRs) to match your internal standards.

Need something custom?

If you’re a Kindor Pro customer, you can request custom rules tailored to your workflows or compliance needs.

How Notifications Work

Once enabled, notifications will be automatically triggered and delivered when applicable:

  • Most notifications, such as process adherence or time management, are sent directly to the contributor via Slack.

  • Contributor Anomalies and Recognition alerts are shared only with their direct manager, so make sure reporting lines are properly set in Kindor.

These alerts run daily and are designed to be actionable and lightweight, ensuring your team stays informed without feeling overwhelmed.

Once enabled, notifications will be displayed as follows in Slack:
