Release Highlights July 2024: Transforming your Kindor Experience

We have released a completely new user experience with a refreshed look and feel to make navigation easier and enhance the understanding of the metrics displayed in the product.

Here are the most important changes:

New Home Pages: The product now has a new home page from which you can quickly access particular sections, trending dashboards, and your favorite dashboards. It also includes a small section where you’ll get the latest news from Kindor. Additionally, every section now has its own home page with links to the available dashboards in that section and a brief explanation of what you can expect.

Sidebar Menu: The sidebar menu is now hidden when not in use and can be accessed using the icon in the top left corner. This modification provides more space on the dashboards to display data.

Dashboard Filters and Selectors: The dashboard filters and selectors have a new look and feel and have been relocated to make them easier to find. Generally, they will be at the top of the dashboard, but if they only affect a specific graph, the selectors will be placed near that graph.

Last Data Refresh Indicator: All dashboards displaying data now have an indicator in the top right corner to show the date of the last data update. For dashboards that filter based on time ranges, there will be an indicator showing the selected dates.

Improved Documentation: All visualizations (tables, KPIs, and graphs) now include tooltips to provide quick explanations of what you are viewing and how the metrics were calculated.

New Sections

The product now includes three new sections: Work In Progress, Initiatives, and Configuration.

Work In Progress: This section gives you an overview of the current work in progress, such as sprints, epics, tasks, open pull/merge requests, and open service desk tickets. The data is filtered to display only work that is open or in progress and is divided into four different dashboards within this section.

Configuration: This section displays how your organization is configured in Kindor, including information like default timezone, active integrations (e.g., GitHub, Jira, Google Calendar), users with Kindor access, and contributors being monitored.

New Dashboards

We have released two new dashboards to help you analyze your data grouped by Jira and Notion projects:

Teams > Projects Summary: This dashboard shows a list of all the projects the team has contributed to, the tasks/story points completed and pending, and the last activity in each project. This is especially useful for teams using different projects/boards to categorize their work.

Initiatives > Project Details: This dashboard provides an in-depth look at a specific project, including daily activity, story points and tasks completed and open, project activity grouped by assignee, and epics belonging to the project.

Dashboard Improvements

We have made improvements to multiple dashboards to standardize the layout, colors, and display more useful and easy-to-consume information:

Teams > Task & Coding Details: These dashboards now have more visualizations and subsections to help you analyze your story points allocation strategy and work type distribution. You can expand and collapse subsections to focus on what interests you most.

Initiatives > Sprint Details (Notion): For teams using Notion, you can now filter the Sprint Details dashboard to see information related to a specific team.

Contributors > Contributors List: You can now filter the list of contributors to display only those in your division or reporting to you (directly and indirectly).

Removed Dashboards:

We have removed some dashboards, considering that the information is already available through other existing dashboards. The removed dashboards include “Organization Overview” and “Teams Performance” from the old Home Section.

All dashboards from the previous Home Section were moved to the “Work in Progress” section, except for the “Teams Performance” dashboard. The information from this dashboard can now be accessed in the “Contributors > Contributors List” dashboard using the “Display only my area” filter.
